Diet and Exercise


I started my diet and exercise routine this week in preparation for my run next month. As much as I love running, and I DO, so far it sucks!!! After two runs (5K each) and a walk, my body was in PAIN! Seriously, it felt as if someone had beaten the crap out of me. I guess that’s what I get for taking a 6-week sabbatical from running!  I know the pain will go away as I continue to exercise. So I am looking forward to increasing my miles and speed.  For this, I am thinking of joining a running club next month – more details to come soon.

The diet has proven to be a bit more challenging…  I do allow myself one treat while I am dieting: triple chocolate ice cream or as Publix (www.publix) calls it Chocolate Trinity Ice Cream – ‘cause that’s just what it is: Divine! I know that having three servings a day is not ideal; however, I’m off pasta, bread, rice, and ALCOHOL!! – At least ‘til after the race.  So this chocolate ice cream is my comfort food for now, and I enjoy every bit of it :)


The weather here in Florida has cooperated.  We are getting a cold front, which is perfect for running (and for wearing all my winter clothes). I’m looking forward to my run Saturday morning and maybe will run an extra mile.  Another exciting weekend coming my way: Running, shopping, dining at a yummy Peruvian restaurant, and since Monday is a holiday, I am going to the movies and then lunch. 

Life is good!
